On 3 July 2024, the sixth meeting of the European Rural Mobility Network (ERMN) will take place as part of the EU SMARTA-NET project – with the participation of Bente Grimm and Rieka Oldsen. This time, the focus will be on two key topics on which the SMARTA-NET team has achieved initial results in recent months. The first topic deals with our extensive survey on travel patterns and attitudes in rural areas and the question of whether and how these have changed post-COVID.
The second topic is based on the so-called “World Café session”, which was held at the last meeting from 14 to 16 May in Évora (Portugal). The contributions of over 80 members in five categories were summarised into a series of insights, opportunities and challenges to be discussed at this meeting.
